When we arrive in Isafjordur, we will visit the Arctic Fox Centre in Sudavik.

Here, there are large flocks of Snow Bunting here which can be captured and, uniquely for UK photographers, there is also the possibility of photographing Ptarmigan in their winter plumage.

 

In the UK, you have to walk to the top of mountains such as Cairngorm to photograph them in snow but in Iceland they come down low and are much easier to see.

 

The trip will also offer chances to photograph whales during the voyage to Hornstrandir and the spectacular Northern Lights. Plus, the chance of photographing white Arctic Fox (as seen here) is also a strong possibility while living on Hornstrandir, which often pay a visit to the area we will be staying at.
